Sikkim Human Resource Development Department (HRDD) conducts Sikkim Teachers Eligibility Test (SKTET) also known as Sikkim TET. Sikkim TET is for the candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary (Class I-V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Sikkim. TET is a compulsory examination for all the B.Ed qualified candidates to be considered for teacher jobs in shools run by the governement and private managements. Minimum educational qualification to apply for this exam is Senior Secondary Passed, BA/ B.Com/ B.Ed/ B.Sc, MA/ MCom/ MSc or equivalent.
